“The last thing I said to him was‘tighten your seat belt’,” my sister told my mother.

“Did he listen?”

“Of course he didn’t listen! When did he ever listen to me?”

“So he did the exact opposite of what you told him.”

“Yes.”

“And knowing this, you told him anyway.”

“Hey, don’t blame me for his hang-ups!”

I sighed -- they would go on like this for the rest of the night -- and set one less place for dinner.
