So What Happens If The US Splits Up?

Nobody who spends more than thirty seconds about it wants it to happen, but in the event the U.S. can no longer keep it together, here’s one possible way things make shake out…

California and Cascadia (the Pacific Coastal Areas of Washington and Oregon) become one nation, the Great Lakes States another, New England a third. 

Vermont will split off to form an independent nation — again!

Florida and Texas will divorce themselves from Magamerica for financial reasons.  The Deepest South will see racial violence as African-Americans return to the area and drive whites out.

Utah becomes a Mormon theocracy.  Nevada remains neutral for tourism.  Hawaii either aligns with the Pacific states or declares independence and de facto aligns with China.

Canada seizes Alaska to prevent Russia from reclaiming it.

The Lakota reclaim the Dakotas, the Cherokee and aligned tribes reclaim Oklahoma.  The Tex-Mex war ends with Mexican victory and much if not all of Texas reclaimed by Mexico. The Alamo is immediately bulldozed.
