The Emerald Yeti All-Color Action Spectacular [review]

The Emerald Yeti All-Color Action Spectacular [review]

What an absolute delight!  The Emerald Yeti-All Color Action Spectacular pits Kenn Minter’s furry green hero in five fast-paced stories guaranteed to take you back to that golden age (i.e., 13) when comics were cool, smart, and most importantly, fun.

Each story evokes a specific sub-genre of comics from jungle adventure to horror to kids’ comedy to superhero soap opera to Sunday funnies, and each one delivers the goods.  Minter, along with a varying team of collaborators (Sterling Clark, Michael Neno, and Clarence Pruett), captures the essence of innocence and sly sophistication that made comics such an appealing media for so many readers.

The Emerald Yeti gives you everything you want in a comic book:  Unique, colorful characters in smart, entertaining stories told with bright, vivid style.

This ain’t no nostalgia wallow but tales for today’s sensibilities that don’t get bogged down with all the angst-laden tropes of far too many contemporary comics.

It a great read for both long time comics fans and newbies as well.
