High School Hierarchy [FICTOID]

High School Hierarchy [FICTOID]

“Ditch the cowboy hat,” Sandra the cheerleader said.  “We have a strict pyramid structure here and country types are w-a-a-a-y on the bottom.”

Hal took his hat off.  He felt sad.  He liked the hat.  “What should I wear?”

“You’re on the football team, so wear a jersey,” Sandra said.  “That puts you near the top.”

Hal took off his plaid shirt and donned his jersey.  Sandra liked the way his muscles rippled and decided once she got Hal properly placed, she’d angle to put him on her rotation of standby boyfriends.

“Who’s on top of the high school pyramid?” he asked.  “The jocks?  The cheerleaders?”

“Please, that’s amateurish,” Sandra said.  “Sounds cheesy, like a 1980s teen movie.  ‘Barf out, gag me with a spoon.’”

Hal chuckled.  “So who is on top?”

“The computer kids, of course.  You need your grades improved, your class schedule reordered, you go to them.

“Don’t ever cross them, however.

“You do and they’ll pop your school standing like a needle lancing a blister.”
