Who Deserves To Be A Citizen?

If your ancestors came to America under duress, you are more deserving of citizenship status than those whose ancestors came here voluntarily in search of a better life.

Your ancestors were stolen from their homes and forced to work for those who wanted to benefit off their labor.

Even those immigrants and settlers who did not directly benefit off enslaved labor benefited indirectly when that labor provided capital for banks and investors to help them expand their own farms and businesses.

If you say first peoples deserved to lose their lands, or enslaved people deserved their fate because they weren’t able to defend themselves against better organized / better equipped oppressors, then you are giving tacit permission for others to do the same to you and yours.

Don’t complain when it happens, hypocrites.
