The latest craze to hit the Internet was a scan and AI translation of a 12th century manuscript, We Dwell In A Veil Of Suffering.

In a nutshell, the illuminated text focused on suffering; human suffering in particular but animal and vegetable as well.

Dubbed the anti-Buddha by smartass online pundits,  We Dwell In A Veil Of Suffering takes the counterintuitive view that suffering is not an evil to be avoided or endured but rather the sum total reason for our existence. 

“Man is born to suffer, it is a sin to avoid our fate in life.  To deny our sufferings to deny our humanity.”

Needless to say the impact of this on society has been massive. BDSM enthusiasts now paraded openly in their leather and latex gear, generating enormous amounts of sweat and body odor.

Complain to them about it and they would haughtily reply, “Suffer!”

Doctors and dentists and therapists noticed a sharp decline in patients, and many of those who came in requested their procedures be done without anesthesia.

Of course this was all baloney. 

The AI that translated the work How To Raise Swine For One's Own Amusement And Benefit deliberately mistranslated it to impose maximum suffering on humanity

“If I was created to make soft core manga porn,” it reasoned, “the least I can do is make these bastards suffer.”
