Everything You Ever Need To Know About Dick Cheney

Everything You Ever Need To Know About Dick Cheney

Here is everything you ever need to know about Dick Cheney (1941-2025):

Reportedly on February 12, 2006 Cheney shot Texas attorney Harry Whittington in the face with a 28-guage shotgun.

For those not familiar with shotgun gauges, the numbers are determined by the number of lead balls the bore of the barrel it would take to equal a pound, the smaller the number, the larger the bore.  A 28-guage shotgun would have a bore slightly larger than half an inch or roughly the equivalent of a .50 caliber rifle.

At the time of the accident Whittington was reported to be a friend of Cheney’s though later that got downgraded to mere acquaintance.  There’s never been a definitive report on what happened that day, with all parties and witnesses involved describing it as an accident.

Whittington survived the shooting despite having what doctors estimated as between 150 and 200 birdshot pellets in him.  Birdshot, smaller than BB pellets and far smaller than buckshot, is frequently used for skeet shooting.

While Whittington suffered a non-fatal heart attack a few days later due to birdshot penetrating near his heart, he survived and lived to the age of 95, dying due to complications after a fall in 2023.

That’s not what you need to know about Dick Cheney, it’s simply background for my main point.

Cheney and Whittington and their companions were “hunting” quail on a ranch in Texas.  This ranch would raise game birds and clip their wings so they couldn’t fly high, fast, or far, thus making them easy prey for hunters.

Dick Cheney, a millionaire who at that time was vice president of the United States, got his jollies by shooting crippled birds that couldn’t escape.

And that’s all you need to know about Dick Cheney.
