The Closing Argument Of A Big Case [FICTOID]

The Closing Argument Of A Big Case [FICTOID]

The courtroom was packed in anticipation of the closing arguments in a notorious vaporware case.

The prosecution felt the case was right in their wheelhouse, a perfect opportunity to catapult them to political fame, perhaps land them a spot on the party’s ticket.

All they needed to do was wait for the defense to rest, then let the jury clamp down on the defendants like an elephant crushing a peanut between its molars.

Defense lawyer Mary Paxton faced the jury.

“My clients are accused of developing a time travel app to defraud investors, claiming a thimble full of low grade radium can – over time – emit enough energy to power a house for a year.

“My clients say they can absorb centuries of energy via their time travel app and apply it to a typical household.

“The prosecution says they failed to create such an app.

“Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, while my clients are sitting in the courtroom right now, nonetheless their time travel app works because they’re also simultaneously in the future, developing that very app to send it back in time!

“Makes perfect sense to me,” said the judge, banging his gavel.  “I decree this case dismissed.

“Now, how do I go about investing in their company?”
