New Year's Resolutions 2018
Much to my delight, my 2017 resolution actually panned out! I’ve ended the year twenty or so pounds lighter than I started it, and my change in eating habits and exercise routine seem to be continuing to produce positive results.
So yea me…
For 2018, I’m focusing on time management.
That I will set aside two days every week for specific tasks.
Tuesday will be Digital Update Day. Unless under deadline, I will schedule no writing for Tuesday. Since Tuesdays are already household chore days (which are typically completed by noon) and my writers group meeting (early evening), I really can’t get much productive work done re writing projects.
But I can update my blog and Tumblr accounts, scheduling future posts on same, as well as prep upcoming Instagram and Twitter posts.
So with the exception of scheduled updates, don’t expect to see me on Facebook or other social media come Tuesdays.
Thursday will be set aside as Reading Day. While I’ll fire up the desktop for Digital Update Day, it’s going to stay cold on Reading Day. Indeed, I don’t intend to spend any time in my office, but rather will find a nice, comfy place to stretch out and start trying to put a dent into my reading stacks, clearing away books / magazines / archived articles I’ve been meaning to read (the desktop will remain inert, but I’ll use my Kindle). Again, no writing unless under deadline (though as always I’ll keeps a notebook nearby in case inspiration strikes), no social media posts except as previously scheduled.
